Different size tires on front and back of a FWD car?


on fwd cars, rear wheels spin freely without care in world easy life rear tires.

but!!

on front? front-left , front-right tires have match? if 1 of them punctured , had replace new tire, have 1 new , more tread , theoretically sits higher, problem?


had 2 tires slashed on car, relatively brand new , i'm not in position buy 2 more. neighbor offered me 2 nice tires 85% tread left.

have 225/55/17's , 2 tires i'm offered 235/45/17's. possible backlash if had 235/45/17's on front , leave others on back, or vise versa?
