How to move to New York from Australia when I am 19?


16 year old girl australia , want move america when turn 19 , wondering entail? i've been america twice before, , going next year, know like. both times went new york city, san francisco, chicago, cleveland, etc... didn't go slummy areas, didn't whole "tourist thing" going disneyland, disney world, universal studios, hollywood, las vegas sort of thing.
reason wish move new york because wanting job in performing arts industry, , truth is, theres not in australia. neighbours, home , away. nothing interests me. biggest film scene in nyc.
how can prepare move new york, wouldn't living directly in city, 50 minutes out in yonkers or something.
planning on moving there take 4 year bfa course.
how find safe place live, rent apartment, buy car, save enough money fund flight over, expensive university fees , living expenses while there?
can use australian probationary (p-plate) license drive in america or need pass american driving test?
