How am i supposed to read Kanji?


i'm trying kanji... know how write , read japanese,, hiragana , katakana i'm having hard time reading kanji because of difference of kanji , hanzi.... know how read hanzi or zhongwen because i'm chinese... example... 学生 in hanzi xue sheng in japanese gakusei
can me whats easiest strategy memorize kanji... gives me headache..
