How is the weather in Utah year round?


live in northern utah. right weather can compared california. in winter time snow. want coat long pants, , possibly boots. in night hours gets cold in winter time have seen around midnight before 2 degrees. right in day time our high 40 degress have seen in in 30's highs before. in summers can hot. can 100 degress day time high. in summers want wear cool off shorts, , t-shirt. bring jacket also. because need it.
if going southern utah little bit warmer northern utah still can cold there.

i'm california , i'm moving utah in fall college. how weather year round? how cold get? type of clothes need? i've gone twice , wasn't cold.
