Why don't schools teach kids more of the things they need to survive in the real world?


agree many schools focus on preparing students college; that's why see trig , calculus. schools focus on 3 core subjects: reading, writing, , mathematics. consider these subjects tools apply in life. learn addition , subtraction in elementary school; adult, apply skills checkbook. schools can't possibly , thoroughly cover every practical application of skill. teach skill; apply it.

kids have take advanced math trigonometry , calculus, aren't taught how balance checkbook or differentiate fact opinion when watching news.
