How do I open a new tab without automatically transfering to it in Google Chrome?


because of privacy issues, wish open new tabs in google chrome without me being automatically transfered them. i.e. if click on new tab button (or link in forums or something) tab open, still stay in 1 before? maybe have download plug-in? appreciated :)
