Hard disk not getting detected?


bought dell alienware m17x has usb3 ports. , having seagate 4tb usb 3.0 external hard disk year, working working fine in old laptop , friends laptop or desktop too. when connect new dell alienware hard disk doesn't detected! gets detected few times! if not getting detected, disk gets power , spins i've unplug , plug power , gets detected after long time. possibly reason this? , how make hard disk detected after plug power?
