a: absolutely not. neither nasa nor other scientific organization predicting such blackout. false reports on issue claim sort of "alignment of universe" cause blackout. there no such alignment (see next question). versions of rumor cite emergency preparedness message nasa administrator charles bolden. message encouraging people prepared emergencies, recorded part of wider government preparedness campaign. never mentions blackout.

a: there no planetary alignments in next few decades , if these alignments occur, effects on earth negligible. 1 major alignment occurred in 1962, example, , 2 others happened during 1982 , 2000. each december earth , sun align approximate center of milky way galaxy annual event of no consequence.
