Did mayans really predict end of world?


mayans never predicted end of world. december 21, 2012 end of long cycle in calendar. reason people got idea world going end because archeologists have found ancient mayan art/language depicting god of disaster descending temple on december 21, 2012. has led people believe god of disaster interpretation of world ending.
but, ancient mayan's prophesied celebration 1 of kings in 4772 a.d....that lot of years away. so, mayans believed world going go on after december 21, 2012. in fact, long cycle in isn't last cycle, there many more.

the mayan calender ends on 21st. did mayans predict end of civilization? or did scammers , scholars assumed that? beleive end? came predictions? , mean if calender ends on day?
