Tips for beginner backpacker?


want backpacking , hiking because i've decided life centered around luxuries of suburban life, have no idea start. have pretty 0 experience great outdoors, other run on trails lot, because mom has been grossed out dirt. not @ all, can sleep on ground if need , i'm willing try takes close nature, need in figuring out go, bring, , how weight should carry.

far have small camelbak used marching band , think perfect day hike (the 2011 mini mule), can't fit in it. have bigger 1 weekend (i can't find model, it's similar 2012 luxe), gerber mulitool, , first aid kit. else need? live around dallas/ fort worth area know of hiking places near here?

how weight should put in it, i'm female, 17, 5'6'', 105 pounds, , pretty muscle tone. thank time, , advice appreciated!
