What's the best way to remove hair from a drain?


there's long piece of plastic little barbs along side of can buy @ store. i'm not sure it's called. stick in drain , pull out, it'll pull lot of hair out it. don't want use liquid drain cleaner unless know plumbing made of. of them have plastic tubes, drain cleaner can melt through.

so drain in shower clogged , stuff hair or whatever what's best method removing it?

tried coat hanger, didn't work well.
