Wich one is better HDMI or Optical?


1st hdmi cable hdmi out on devices hdmi in on receiver audio, 2nd hdmi cable hdmi out on receiver hdmi in on tv video , tv audio.

- hdmi , dvi has same video quality.
- hdmi has better audio quality s/pdif optical/coaxial.

hdmi (digital audio).
- can stereo=2 channel (uncompressed) pcm audio.
- can 6 channel=5.1 or 8 channel=7.1 (uncompressed) surround sound. (6th or 8th channel lfe=low frequency effects).
- hdmi version cables support 8 channel lpcm, 192 khz, 24-bit audio capability, can support audio @ at sample sizes of 16-bit, 20-bit , 24-bit, sample rates of 32 khz, 44.1 khz, 48 khz, 88.2 khz, 96 khz, 176.4 khz , 192 khz.
- hdmi versions can lossy surround sound formats known dolby digital or dts.
