Critique my voice, please?
nice job!
things watch:
1) straining voice! we, singers, tend stretch our necks when reaching higher notes. instead of forcing chin up, lift eyebrows! centers pitch , allows better intonation.
2) over-doing it. singers, in musical theatre, try belt , everything. separates singer singer picking , choosing battles. should belt out every phrase , decrease quality of voice , vocal control? or should save belting more appropriate time. ex: "...no ransom paaaaaaid" vs "... different hell i'm living!"
3) accenting words. in musical theatre, text of song super important because advances plot. said, can't go out of our way pro-noun-ce-each-and-ev-ery-word-as-if-w... were-a-drum. let text flow! also, watch consonants. not every 't' should popped , not every 'd' should percussive. example, 't' @ end of world "text" popped, because accent last 't' (text), in word "that" not, more of 'ht' sound. don't "look @ dog!" "look @ dog!"
4) drop jaw! dropping jaw give rounder vowel shape , make words clearer. mouth/throat should open same way if yawning.
things noticed listening first time!
being said, have magnificent voice , abundant potential! keep work!
i'm 15 year old girl interested in musical theatre , improve in way possible. constructive criticism can me more successful. singing dreamed dream les miserables.
