What's it like to live in Australia?
australia multicultural country. have 4 cities ranked in top 10 livable. our climate perfect @ times, we're safe terrorism, natural disasters don't affect of , our economy ain't bad rest of first worlds.
* scenery diverse , breathtaking. possible, in country, ski on snowy mountain then, on same day, fly queensland , snorkeling on white sanded beach.
* don't carry guns. gun laws strict here , don't have massacres
* australia has 1 of highest number of world heritage listed sites on earth (for single country). country filled wonderful, isolated national parks.
* cities (and country) multicultural people emigrating on world. generally, australia "liberal" country , recognized 1 of tolerant on earth. there problems, of course, outbreaks of racism (like everywhere else) not have open gang warfare prevalent in america.
* our standard of education 1 of highest on earth , our health system 1 of best. have health system takes care of irrespective of how earn. system many americans envy , works well.
* people fabulous. generally, australians extremely down-to-earth , egalitarian. australia not have horrific "class" system oppresses many people in britain.
on down side though - have gst, , income tax relatively expensive. renting can expensive unless you're sharing house. cost of living extremely high food costs approximately 30% higher in us. crime bit higher in cities, think same anywhere in world, , it's more expensive live in cities too. country has extreme weather conditions.
have poisonous nasties snakes , spiders - learn live them easily. flies everywhere in summer. there sharks , jellyfish in oceans - again learn swim in places , @ times avoid problems. , have crocodiles north - same again, learn not do.
