Car battery to generate electricity, pls?


first problem whether laptop capable of being supplied 12v., "standard" voltage of car battery. if not, "boost" converter need used (i think generally, laptops require 15v. supply), , boost converter means inefficiency in converter, , current draw @ 12v. supply computer's requirements @ 15v.
car battery have ampere- hour rating, can use estimate battery charge life, providing first know approximately current needed run converter , computer. car battery should capable of running computer without damage battery, , charge life, divide ampere- hour capacity current wish draw it.
if there no power supply are, left wondering how intend charge battery.??

there's no power supply in area. told can use car battery generate power. problem is, how long can car battery generate power? device i'm having laptop. if there additional things should know, pls, don't hesistate to. thanks!
