Could a society where all necessities like food, shelter, healthcare, education are free, sustain itself?

considering no such society has ever been successful on large scale length of time, argue no, not sustain themselves. in fact, idea relies on pretty faulty ideas human nature.

first, humans not biologically driven equal. in fact, thrive in social hierarchies. there has never been society of total equality because people not same, nor desire be. status characteristics/expectation states theory tells hierarchies natural in human (and in every non-human social) species.

second, work? why has every need in life handed him want spend time working? idea ask relies on assumption people desire productive. not consistent economic , social research shows people need clear incentives productive.

in order ensure no cheating emerges, have in charge make sure resources allocated properly. means person in charge unequal else. have more social power , therefore ability , desire perpetuate power , make rules benefit them @ expense of others. alone cause system collapse.

need ask deeper question here. necessities of human life, really? education necesary? health care? humans got along quite nicely without both of things many centuries. not necessary (though might nice) human survival.

in short, it's thought, not @ sustainable in human species.
