end of innocence

confusion reigns on mind every breath
blood in veins flows colder death
songs of damned echo inside soul
shifting in shadows blacker deepest hole
voices of laughter become of pain
cruelly intensifying darkness of shame
in moment tranquility expire
flames hold no warmth in hottest fire
tears no longer fall, held pride
have left fight side
reality of trust holds no meaning more
favorite dreams of innocence still wash ashore
