budgie's cere not used gender determination until have come sexual maturity occurs anywhere 6 months of age year old. before this, have gender test @ avian vet gender determination.

immature (juvenile) female budgies can commonly have light purplish cere why using cere inconclusive @ young age since represent males cere feature. upon maturity, hormones released, in response turns females cere tan/brownish, , males deep darkish bluish/purplish except in albino female, , few males mutations cere can't used determining gender regardless of age. luck baby budgie!!
