Why is the ocean salty?


well, salty because ocean filled rivers, creeks, etc. while water traveling through mountains , wherever, carries minerals rocks, and, salt mineral, too. well, of these minerals end in huge body of water created rivers , stuff. body of water ocean or sea. of these minerals stay in oceans or seas, there no rivers or leaving oceans bring them away. also, when water evaporates, leaves behind solid compounds, minerals left are, creating higher salt ratio behind, smaller water ratio, causing water become more salty. also, if notice, sea rocks no water on them may covered in salt crystals.they there because when tide goes up, salt , minerals settle on rocks. tide goes down, leaving behind of salt , minerals settled on rocks. love ocean, in fact, certified junior open water scuba diver (i'm thirteen). hope helped!
