How to keep the house cool with no air con?


can door stoppers things fit under cracks of doors keep cool in , heat out.
opening windows if hot bring humid air in , make hotter.
suggest if hot try putting face washer around neck. far room there no guaranteed way make cooler without air con. try , keep cool ice packs, icy poles, face washers etc.

the air conditionor broke , have 2 small fans. hot , humid , opening windows brings in hot air outside. ideas on how keep cool , stay cool. thanks
