Would this song be suitable for a musical theatre audition?

generally, no, that's not song choice. musical theatre directors/casting directors expect sing musical theatre song. i've listed few ideas songs in similar range , style below.

however... auditions okay using popular songs (in other words, music isn't musical, such pop, rock, etc.). many audition notices whether or not want musical theatre or if they're open popular songs; if don't, stick song musical.

in general, if audition says it's cool sing popular song, want stay away celine dione, beyonce, evanescence, , similar iconic divas - people know songs , expect sound original vocalist, nigh impossible, , such songs require perfect pitch , exceptional control pull off.

finally, make sure song choose appropriate role you're auditioning for. if character want play shy, don't song that's flirty. if you're auditioning character who's upbeat time, don't use sad song. want director/casting director see in *that* role, , song choice influence this.

song in mid-high range, i'd go like:

- "where go here" evita (sad, longing)
- "all jazz" cabaret (upbeat, showcase, flirty)
- "memory" cats (nostalgic, ballad - if can sing song well!)
- "i love being girl" flower drum song (very flirty, bad-girl type)

would song "its coming me now" celine dione suitable musical theatre audition. ballad , easy perform?
