Gallstones - how do I ease an attack?


after eating yesterday evening, developed quite severe pain @ top part of stomach, under breast bone. radiated out either side , lasted 3.5hrs , eased off. went bed @ 10pm woke @ 1am in pain, lasted hour. today still had discomfort under ribs, more on right side , didn't eat day until evening , cramping has started again - not bad last night. i've taken 2 ibuprofen nip pain in bud - hopefully.
should see doctor or episode pass on own? remedies can recommend? feel constipated , feel though bowels aren't emptying - past week bowel movements less , passing small amount compared normal. laxatives help? advice appreciated. ps pain intense , quite severe - i've had 3 babies , early/mid labour higher up!!
