Will playing tuba mess up my trombone embouchure?

if did, there no school band teachers. every single music education major in college required learn play every single instrument in band , keep high level on primary instrument. alone sufficient proof learning new instrument doesn't "mess up" embouchure or none of music education majors able it.

if in professional orchestras in tuba section, you'll see player there doesn't play bbb tuba have in schools. many have cc , f. cool thing f tuba (and many eb tubas), same mouthpiece bass trombone or large bore euphonium. in fact, many tuba players play euphonium uses same mouthpiece trombone. while bone players aren't doublers (they concentrate attention on trombone), tuba player doubler , trombone player too.

doublers in low brass have no issue whatsoever playing whole group. in fact, universities allow "low brass" primary instrument , concentrate on them many sax players expected play flute , clarinet.

problem many teachers have it, , whole source of myth, if you're practicing tuba, you're not practicing trombone. if goal musician best trombone soloist in world, take front seat no matter audition for, , excel on 1 instrument; learning interfere some. if, however, you'd teach music, play in many ensembles can find seat, and/or versatile player; learning tuba (and euphonium) natural progression bone player. 4th horn skill have too.
