Is it standard to used yellow wire as an earth wire?


depends on national standard country involved. of world has moved green or green , yellow striped. there may differences between flexible cords, cable wiring in houses etc., , switch-board fixed wiring too. ships can use different codes.

safety ground colours in past @ least have been @ least red, white, black, grey , green in european countries alone , think countries yellow (italy) , red/yellow. countries might "neutral , ground must different colours phases".

international manufacturers tend use european (iec) standard flexible cords, has green , yellow striped earth wire.
