What's with all these rural stereotypes?


i'm 15 year old living in small missouri town population of around 1000. on here i've heard many rural stereotypes suggest uneducated, inbred bible thumpers, , find ridiculous. live, education of great importance , many of go on college , schools out here great. recently, while talking city, asked if had indoor plumbing , internet, if freakin' amish people or something. i've heard country dwellers haven't "seen real world" , makes close-minded racist, sexist scum, when infact not true. @ school there black kid , loves him! of here have gone on vacations , st. louis mere hour , half away, have seen "real world." we've been labeled "conservative idiots," , ridiculous. i've seen question on here asked why rural people conservative , why didn't know in our best interest vote liberal, if weren't intelligent enough know best interests are! know works us, , conservative ideals, while in city liberal ideals seem work. please educate me on why these stereotypes exist.
btw, know these cultural stereotypes go both ways...
