What is the lowest grade I can get on this test to still pass?

85% (= 0.85) of grade calculated , have 86%. test worth 15% (= 0.15) of final grade. let's call grade on test g. means grade whole class is:

(0.85 * 86) + (0.15 * g)

find out need g (that is, grade on final) in order still pass class, find out lowest numerical grade can in class , still pass. let's say, sake of argument, that grade 71%. set expression final grade equal lowest passing grade, , solve g, this:

(0.85 * 86) + (0.15 * g) = 71
73.1 + 0.15g = 71
0.15g = 71 - 73.1
0.15g = -2.1
g = -2.1/0.15
g = -14

i'm pretty sure earned @ least -14% on exam, if 71% passing grade, should pass class if fail exam badly. fact things you've completed weighted more heavily exam makes hard move grade far in either direction.

i have 86% in biology class currently. took final today , i'm pretty sure failed it. ha. anyways, lowest grade can on final without failing whole class?
