What is life like for a westerner in Shanghai?


hey. i'm thinking of moving shanghai in february teach english. i've lived in canada of life, lived in spain year. of time i'm pretty excited it, i've had few people make me nervous living in shanghai. saying general things 'asia's different here'.

anyways, if can offer me insight on life of westerner living in shanghai. meeting people, making friends, coping language barriers (i know little mandarin)

part i'm excited opportunity, reason can't seem shake when people seem hesitant it, or less excited me...
