...hi there.....i have been working in shoe repair field on thirty years , can assure both of previous answers correct extent ....one can best shoe repair craftsman without proper materials , equipment superior craftsmanship cannot realized ...also less talented shoe repaiman of latest materials , equipment cannot produce highest quality shoe repair work ... speak many years of experience.. high quality full service shoe repair shop repair shoes.. boots.. sandals handbags.. briefcases..etc...stretch footwear.. replace hardware on leather goods.. shoes , boots ...do alterations on boots/shoes..replace zippers.... refinish/dye footwear & leathergoods , fill orthopedic prescriptions ...... so.. answer question ...no not shoe repair shops same ...and shops .. @ least ones have worked in not carry same materials because depends on shop owners level of expertise , customer demographics..available business capital , willingness accomodate cutomer's needs in considerate , timely fashion.......

...and materials used (especially heels , soles).
