Are these all examples of ions?
here's simple way tell: ions have charge. atoms/molecules charge on list f- , no3-, ions. other ones--ethanol, ammonia, , hydrogen--are neutral, they're not ions (but doesn't mean can't have ammonium, nh4+, ion, or hydrogen ion [proton], h+).
simplest way tell: ions have little "-" or "+" after formula, denotes having "unbalanced" charge. in atoms/molecules/compounds aren't ions, charges of protons (+) , electrons (-) "cancel out," atoms can gain or lose electrons through various processes , ions formed. (the number of protons *not* change from, say, lone sodium atom lone sodium ion.)
hey wondering these examples of ions.
