Places to stargaze in australia?


anywhere away city brilliant - need go there no streetlights , few houses. live on outskirts of brisbane in rural area , stars here amazing further inland, or out on islands, many more become visible.

son in law showed me iphone app other day able show stars in area of sky point at. uses celestial maps , gps technology rather looking @ sky works in daylight or in cloud on clear nights. if point @ ground, tells stars visible on other side of world. useful @ night identify stars , other features you're looking at. haven't explained i'm avid stargazer , impressed.

my bf wants go stargazing 1 day. there places in aus can take on tour through telescope? or go camping see stars?
also, time of year best time go?
