If you start home schooling in the 10th grade will colleges care about your 9th grade GPA?
universities don't @ 9th grade gpa. goes when 7th, 8th , 9th "junior high" , high school 10th through 12th grades. others @ average of courses required admission , still others take 9th through 12th grades. you'd have talk admissions officer schools you're interested in.
honestly, if choose independently homeschooled (not through cyber school, whether public or private), universities aren't going put lot of weight in gpa. parents giving grades, , considered not reliable. also, grades way of ranking students. ranking in homeschooling meaningless. competitive universities "highly suggest" dual-enroll @ community college. require portfolio homeschooled students. in real words means if want chance of acceptance. important ivy league, or university matter, transcripts , sat/act scores homeschooler. ivy league university, you'll need perfect scores. admissions data - it's on line- students admitted have *very* high score. friend's son @ uc on full merit scholarship did not ivy leagues spite 2200 score on sats combined , 4.0 @ top private prep school. transcripts way of showing studied. sure highly academic. transcripts show extra-curricular activities. need balanced. not looking balanced student , balance in student body. that's being homeschooled can set ahead. lots of applications , have around 25% acceptance rate - of great students. need stand out.
will 9th grade thrown out door? have start over? or stay way?
