Is my hard drive corrupted?


have 4 year old laptop.
has had many problems.
mom spent money fix buy me 2 brand new laptops.
broken again.
got media test failure check cable error.
disabled lan.
got operating system error not found.
, bios isn't reading hard drive.
or in other words detecting it.
called guy said if doesn't have replace hard drive 60$
replace or formant it.
around 150$
corrupted?
popped open ( stupid way)
saw bunch of dust in it.
, closed picture of screen isn't showing black.
, battery is.
can't go in supposed be. dented 1 of medal allows hold battery in.
see how mistake?
replace laptop?
toshiba satellite.
told reliable /laptops.
if best brand replace with?
here sony , dells laptop brands.
using moms sony laptop type this.
laptop can off charger 5 minutes.
, same moms 1st dell laptop works great still 10 years old.
battery life 5 10 minutes also.
