HP Desktop not finding/allowing Canon Printer?


hp pavilion 20 all-in-one desktop doesn't allow me connect canon mp610 series printer. every other computer own connects fine. desktop runs windows 8. there in windows 8 rejects |canon printer? how connect printer. ive tried adding device, , doesn't work. ive tried adding through ms office, notepad. neither of works. when trying add in ms office, message "the active directory domain service unavailable". how fix this? when trying add through notepad, told there no driver. do? need print pc. , please don't tell me buy new printer.
