Is distorted sound a result of bad speaker or receiver?


amplifiers not have infinite amount of power, , when come close there maximum output capability can clip audio signal , send distorted signal speakers. can damage ether amplifier, speakers or both if not careful. amount of power needed determined speakers efficiency, impedance, size of room, , output volumes wanting achieve. of course speakers have there limitations how loud can play, buying right speakers , amplifier how loud wanting play system, , more importantly sound quality desire.

i hooked pair of old (1998 or so) nice speakers brand new speaker wire 8 year old 6-disc cd changer stereo receiver. every time play music it's fine until turn way or close it. because of receiver or speakers? in advance!
