Solar energy: How to get more wattage from several solar panels?
here's thing. have little farm in far far place there's no electrical power. have generator can't afford have on day... have chickens need keep warm @ night among other things, turning on light bulbs (both old , energy saving ones), tv, radio, etc few hours.
here's thing, looking online , found descent price on 130 watts solar panel, 12 volts output thinking of buying it.
i'll explain know far can maybe me out doubts:
supposed sum amount of watts consumed devices connected panels right ? instance, if have 3 40 watts bulbs mean 120 watts per hour, means panel job right ? let's assume second have ideal weather conditions. mean if need bulbs on 4 hours that's "120*4= 480 watts hour" .. panels need working under ideal conditions 4 hours right ? mean "130*4=520 watts hours" should fine, right ? no energy storage involve far. direct energy consumption right?
now, here's 1 of main question. couldn't fine panels provide more 130 watts, do when need more energy ? supposed connect several panels in parallel keep same voltage or supposed connect them in series , deal later voltage increase ? "common sense" tells me should connect them in parallel (assuming i'm buying same panel several times), same voltage output, them connect them power inverter. but, wattage increase, keep adding ? instance if have 4 130 watts panels in parallel total of 520 watts ? *crucial question*
also, among doubts have, ask how select system. said before, main issue keep chicken warm. light say, 6 old light bulbs can heat room chickens. let's 60 watts (maybe?). according logic mean 360 watts 1 panel wouldn't enough, how more wattage ? how enough wattage light these light bulbs plus couple other energy saving ones surroundings of farm, , old small tv , maybe small fan ? "warming bulbs" on night, that's goal.. other things intend power on 4 hours average.
last not least, quite important... how store enough energy keep things going on once sun gone. may have figured out need energy @ night, once sun gone, keep chicken warm @ night light patio guess. i'm gonna need arrangement of batteries this.. ones ? how many ? in parallel (of course?) ? how time need charge before need use them again ? remember plan use them on daily basis.
can see i'm pretty ignorant when comes this, i'm trying figure out. know sounds bit nuts i'm asking teach me set whole systems needs. possible ? given case can't keep "warming bulbs" on, still set system light patio energy saving bulbs, turn on small tv , perhaps fan, still lot.
if i'm asking crazy, know of other affordable way produce or store enough energy of things ? maybe wind energy? or (i don't know) there way charge arrangement of batteries generator , use these batteries inverter keep rest of things on @ night ? because don't keep generator on night, break after while. sounds waste have such huge thing on hours every night keep few bulbs , small tv on.
anyway, time. hope doesn't sound crazy , hope can me out or maybe guide me in right direction.
