My nine year old hates reading and writing due to his dyslexia, how can I help him practice?

encouraging children read when have learning disorder not easy.

reading should fun, try find books interest him, , easy read. found using dr. seuss books or other nonsensical or rhyming books fun , easy read, beginner reader or had ld.

encourage him read aloud, can ensure pronouncing words correctly, , if gets stuck on unfamiliar word, let him try saying word few times before telling him word is, may need explain word means if unfamiliar word.
allow him use finger or ruler guide, follow sentence, , let him read @ pace. many dyslexics miss read words or sentences using finger/ruler can prevent this.

reading comprehension, ask son write or tell liked or disliked book, main character, story about, fiction or non fiction (you have talk these mean), when or book set. can extend movies, t.v shows etc, helps comprehension.

when reading sure there no distractions, , make sure no 1 else around, because can cause anxiety & distress, needs build self confidence read.

did not learn read until 14, 30 when learnt dyslexic 9 year old daughter. daughter can read well, adult loves read. hand writing, spelling, maths etc affected. reading problem me (but can read), hand writing & spelling good, except homophone words (i hate homophones). not known dyslexic, final year of high school scores dismissal.
when teaching daughter read, read books her, using different tones of voice each character, loved, used lot of dr zeus books , other nonsensical rhyming books, read word word there's wocket in pocket (memorized it) age 4. age of 15 reading ability & comprehension beyond age group.
