What title would someone have if they were from another country and married a royal princess?


unlike women, men not automatically receive royal or noble titles on marriage royal or noble women. when man marries princess, if has no title of own, title gets decided monarch.

depend on princess is. if she's first heir throne, man more exalted title if she's 1 of several princes , princesses in royal family , unlikely ever become queen regnant.

husbands of first heirs , queens regnant in europe have been given title of "prince" and/or royal duke. however, men marrying less important princesses have received no titles @ all. husband of norway's princess martha louise untitled. in uk, princess anne's first husband offered noble title refused it. second husband has no title either. both of husbands british, situation have been same if she'd married foreigner.

princess madeleine of sweden engaged american. believe he's taking swedish citizenship, don't know whether receive title @ all.

marine involved middle eastern princess, of there thousands. believe saudi or kuwaiti. foreign men (and non-muslims) marry them not going titles. marriages may not recognized.
