Are black walls okay in a small room?


we're moving , new room smaller current one, has lots of natural lighting. want oaint walls black i'm not sure if bad. i'd bright comforter , of bookshelves white, have reddish oink reading chair, multicolor standup lamp, , dark gray rug kind of plaid made of bright colors. have lot of posters up, subtract black.
