not recommend ever use live rodents, can - have found - lot of damage snake in confined space.

place food on newspaper or plastic tray not pick substrate. if snake go rodent , start eat - fine !

if shows little or no interest in feeding use defrosted rodents held base of tail proper "feeding tongs" - move mouse around head of snake , try , provoke striking @ mouse. may take 30 minutes or more new snake strike.

size rodent feed?
snakes under 4 feet - measure widest part of head of snake - - - rodent should twice fat measurement.
larger boas , pythons rodent should no fatter widest part of body of snake.

should ideally feed 1 rodent every 7 days snake size.
"normal" meal snake should take 10 minutes ingest , swallow.
if snake eats quicker mouse small.
next feed offer next size up.

my snake had 2 mice in tank , ate 1 , left other 9 months waited while second mouse started biting him has 2 black bite marks on body. he's 1 1/2 feet long do bites???
