Being polite when meeting my Spanish friend's mum?


in 2 weeks meeting spanish friend's mum first time. i'm quite nervous since i'm not sure on differences there in behaviour when addressing older spanish people.
should use usted form? friend told me mum doesn't mind i'm not sure!
need tips , stuff- want make impression , not offend :)
