Subaru Outback or VW Passat Alltrack?


love outbacks - i've got 2 of them, 1997 155,000 miles on odometer, , 2008 90,000 miles (my wife drives lot job). had 2013 outback few days test. nice suv (now they're calling suv; got bigger). cvt 6-speed emulation mode felt great transmission. subaru has been building these continuously variable transmissions quite while, they're reliable too.

vw alltrack has 6.5 inches of ground clearance (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2011/... ), while new outback boasts whopping 8.7 inches. that's more jeep grand cherokee's 8.1 inches clearance ! while neither vw nor subaru have low range transmissions rock climbing, subaru more of off-road vehicle vw.

experience reliability subarus good. i'd have hard time suggesting subaru, on more expensive audi alltrack (hey, it's back!).

the 2 seem pretty same - got advice?

used own subaru leone, , loved driving it, have never owned vw.

thoughts appreciated.

I'm starting to collect records. What should I store them in?

i've started collecting vinyl records. have 40 right asked more christmas. want shelf or can put them on.
