If a person's family has lived in the u.s. since colonial times, is it likely they have...?
great question because words , facts matter , there incorrect assumption many american make along these lines.
no, bottom line is not have native ancestry if one's family has old colonial roots. small percentage of white americans have native ancestry , admixture between whites , natives largely confined tribal community. in other words, when white man moved area there indian people, there mixing, offspring raised in tribal community , not in white community. frequently, white traders had offspring indian partners "split" or abandoned indian families , returned white society. happened on , on again. so, while there significant white admixture within indian communities, there minimal "indian" admixture in general white population.
...native american ancestors?
