Should I just give up composing?

no, because @ beginning of learning how compose, , means no great recognition right now.

sense have ambition immediately, 'right recognized' highly talented , accomplished composer. unrealistic; have moderate amount of raw talent (all required, trust me) , little work behind - if think you've worked enormously hard, in ratio takes, have yet work hard, or have had long enough time working @ it.

if not have enough of both curiosity music , love endure longer haul , more patient yourself, chuck in bin. have said before 'be patient yourself?' patient yourself.

if think not doing music, whether ever become 'famous' or not, continue haunt you, bug you, , become later regret, means continue. it, if nothing else, outlet personal expression, keep happily engaged when doing it? why give worth you?

must not think others think of neophyte musical excursions -- hell man, you're fifteen. not @ unusual time start learning compose, maybe bit early.

i've told in thread. write me. think attaching far far being recognized this, getting attention it, where, if endure, practice, continue, might. see music theory available through school. if there not class in it, maybe music teacher on staff can you, direct you, or refer work with.

so, write me. studied piano young years , finished conservatory piano performance major. decade or more later, while continuing work active performer, accompanist , teacher, went school , went through entire bachelor's , masters level theory , composition. so, think give decent bit of advice in department ;-)

1 bit of advice give right now: if doing music energy focused on bringing attention , getting recognition, in way of chance of development, getting better @ it, or possible success.

successful ones think music, how make make possible, , 'serve' craft, anonymous medieval stone masons. if keep @ , become successful, recognition , rest result of that, , still remains secondary primary concern - serve music well.

when @ beginning, are, common not know listen avoid mistakes making. have barely learned how think 'what piece , why works.' raw musicality, you've done enough, has weaknesses of works many beginning self-taught composer.
