What are stock photography agencies ?

there 2 types of stock agencies ... traditional stock agencies , micro stock agencies.

forget getting in stock agency, not gonna happen. you;d have 1 of best photographers in world contract. microstock on other hand may within reach it;s not worth it.

microstock agencies offer images ridiculously low prices clients .. problem you, supplier of images, ridiculously low cut minuscule sales.

here example:
istockphoto - image (people in scene) model release @ high resolution sell @ 80$, let;s 100$ make math easier. istock keeps 80% of sale 80$ , 20$.

landscape pictures, pictures of pets or macro shots of flowers aren;t accepted anymore on microstock agencies because have many of images already.

might think "that's great! 20$ every time sell picture!" there cost associated shooting image, travel, wear , tear on car, gas, had hire models, had print out contracts , model releases models ...

images sell best images people in them, doing interesting. problem need model releases people in shot or microstock agencies won't accept images. you'll need hire models.

beginning model shoot can cost anywhere 25$ - 100$ hour! have shoot 3 models (let's 25$ hour each), assistant (25$ hour) , hair/makeup artist (20$ hour) 4 hour shoot. cost shoot in labor costs 500$.

pay labor costs (we haven't looked @ other costs yet or own salary) you'd need sell 25 images shoot. , that's full resolution image , not 1 of cheaper options web sized or things of nature you'll making 25 cents sale.

on top of that, don;t have backup gear or lighting gear. don't have lighting gear allow produce marketable images , if 1 camera fails mid shoot, imagine lost money ... still have pay models, assistant, stylist have no images show it?

odds right don't have skills needed produce images accepted better microstock agencies anyway. start learning art , science of photography before trying turn revenue stream.

think way ... bought nice lagastina post , gas powered stove , want start selling food. how start? question make sense?

heard these agencies pay uploading picture @ websites.
interested don't have any1 guide me in field.
people please guide me!
