If a plague killed off most of mankind, what would a scientist need to do to restart computers in, say, a lab?

need have sort of electrical power run computer. assuming mains power down, he'd need diesel generator or appropriate solar panels (a sufficiently large solar panel connected inverter enough operate computer).

after 5 years, computer should work fine, data stored on it. pretty forms of computer data storage become corrupted , lose data after while, take lot longer 5 years.

assumes, of course, they're kept under conditions time. if computer immersed in water or damaged in other way, might not last long.

for purpose of accesing data he/she use survivors. kind of decay on programs expect if generator going 5 years later?

taken read people have better things first. im after technical data please. thanks
