term culture refers way of life of people of particular society. includes both material [artifacts] , non-material [mentifacts] elements. among non-material aspects of culture include norms. norms rules members of culture and/or sub-culture share. norms largely dictate how expected behave. include both formal , informal rules , vary serious [taboos example] minor [fads example]. norms apply members of society [normative universals] while others apply individuals [normative specialties & crazes example]. think of norms subset of culture. regards.
