Can anyone read this name from old German?


page "family bible". when married in germany (or swiss or austria) did in front of servant of town government , in church of congregation belonged to.

first page of bible contained names of person got married, following pages names of children (kinder) , last page dates of death dates. bible given oldest son. many families have several of them (we have 7).

page of children: title means "children", lower part psalm bible used wedding (psalm 126. 3.5). assuming couple had children starting @ age 25 married appr. 1870.

names are: konrad, andreas, josephina (female form of joseph), eleonora, grete, karl, gretel, bernharddina (female form bernhard, short form bernd - common name @ time, comes catholic saint " bernhard), eleonora, marie , hans. typical christian names @ time. when child died young later 1 received same name or similar (grete - gretel).

seems written 1 person @ same time. mixture of 'old german" (suetterlin) , "modern german". old g. used in 1900 , 1920's on both used in school. generation raised in 20's , 30's used mixture of both (my father" born 1920 wrote "new german" signature used mixture of both. person wrote went school around time. word bernharddina written in "old". unusual name , person might never has seen in "new", might why used old style.

names more common in southern germany (maybe switzerland/austria) in north germany, names josephina , marie related bible , more common in roman catholic families in protestant.
