Do all black widows have a red hour glass?

surprisingly, not female black widows have characteristic hourglass pattern. have stripes or spots on ventral and/or dorsal sides of abdomens. this:

without presence of hourglass, female black widows distinguishable. if see large, jet-black spider bulbous, spherical abdomen, chances it's widow.

male black widows, on other hand, nothing female counterparts. brown, small, , have more tubular shaped body small red or yellow dot on undersides in place of hourglass.
