What would happen if I plugged 12V LEDs into 120V socket?


so, i'm not electricity, , don't know how works.. well, know basic part of it, not stuff this.
have 12 ft left on led strip left used truck awhile back, , want light room them. took adapter off of old charger 12v wondering, happen if took plug off of say, required whole 120v, , use instead? heard somewhere leds run @ 10x capacity they're suppose have, , they'll bust, i'm not sure, , don't particularly want try it.
