What is the problem with my LCD Monitor?

now, before answering question, please bear in mind that..

- not wish buy new monitor.

- monitor is/was top of line, , during @ time of it's release, best in it's series.

- monitor baby, , mentioned above, not buying new one.

- not have money buy new monitor.

okay, we've got bit of information out there, here's issue(s)..

of recently, monitor not keep constant picture.

when turned on, screen flicker brighter , darker, go black after second , half.

when happens, way restore picture turn monitor off , on again. results in inconsistent picture(as described above).

now, please bear in mind monitor has power, monitor not shutting off. picture, contents of desktop, , etc, losing visual off of.

, no, issue not video card. have tested 2 other video cards same monitor, 2 alternative monitors main video card use within system.

if helps, brand of monitor hannspree. model number hf257, , 24/27 inches in width.
